Airport Taxi Stockholm
Arlanda Airport taxi service is a pretty popular transportation option since you can start your ride to the city as soon as you get out of the airport terminal at ARN. Taxi ranks are available directly outside all terminals. Their vehicles are eco-friendly and electric, and they can take you from Stockholm Airport to Stockholm, Uppsala, and many places in between - check out their zone boundaries here.
- Wherever you want to go within those boundaries, your taxi rate won’t be higher than 675 SEK, which is $73. So, for example, your ride from ARN to Uppsala would certainly cost less than that, which is pretty reasonable compared to private transfers.
Public Transportation
Public transit is very often used by airport passengers since it is very safe and affordable transport option. Trains are much faster, but the buses are usually cheaper.
Flygbussarna airport shuttle bus offers 3 routes from Stockholm Airport to central Stockholm, and all of them depart from every airport terminal:
- to Stockholm City - departs every 10 minutes; travel time is 45 minutes;
- to Liljeholmen - usually departs every 20 minutes;
- to Kista/Sandbyberg/Bromma - departs up to every 20 minutes.
The regular one-way fare to Stockholm City is 99 SEK, which is $10.70.
The one-way fare for the two other routes is 119 SEK, which is about $13.

Upplands Lokaltrafik runs the public buses from Stockholm Airport to Uppsala - the airport coach 801 - which departs every 30 minutes from 3 AM until midnight.
The exact fare depends on the number of zones you will travel through, but it won’t be higher than $20. In fact, it will most probably be much lower. Nevertheless, it is still much cheaper than a taxi or private transfers.
There are two night buses available from Arlanda Airport:
- SL night bus 592 to central Stockholm,
- SL night bus 593 between Uppsala and Stockholm which stops at the airport.

Trains
This airport transportation option is very popular since it is the fastest way to get to Stockholm city center. The Arlanda Express train departs from the airport every 15 minutes, and it will efficiently get you to the downtown area within only 20 minutes. You can also use this train to travel between airport terminals free of charge.

SL’s commuter trains can also take you to Stockholm for 38 minutes and to Uppsala for 18 minutes. They depart from the area between the terminals 4 and 5 called Arlanda Central Station.
