At Terminal 1, the check-in counter is in the Ground Transportation Atrium by the taxis and hotel shuttles. From Terminal 2, go out of door #6 of the terminal and cross the street to the Ground Transportation Center. Rochester Shuttle will park at the far right end.

Minneapolis Airport Taxi
To get to the taxi rank at Terminal 1, use the Tram Level (Level T). Signs will direct you one level up to the taxi starter booth. At Terminal 2, taxis are at the Ground Transport Center, on the ground level of the Purple Ramp. Here are the average fares:
- MSP to Downtown Minneapolis: $39-$49
- MSP to Downtown St. Paul: $31-$38
These fares include a $2.50 flag drop and a $4.50 airport access fee.
Rental Cars
To have the freedom to explore the city at your own pace, renting a car would be a smart move. On-airport rental car counters at Terminal 1 are on the second and third levels between the Blue and Red parking ramps. You can take the underground tram to the ramps and then take an elevator to the second or third floor. At Terminal 2, rental car counters are in the Ground Transport Center on the ground level of the Purple Ramp directly across from the terminal building.

Public Transportation
The cheapest way to get to downtown Minneapolis is via public transportation. Light rail transit (LRT) trains stop at both terminals and connect travelers to many destinations in the area. Trains run every 10 minutes during peak hours and every 10 to 15 minutes at other times of the day. The price for adults is $2.00 during non-rush hours and $2.50 during peak hours.
To reach the Terminal 1 station, take the tram to the Transit Center and then follow the signs to the light rail station. To get to the Terminal 2 station, take the elevator or escalator from Level 1 up to the Orange Ramp skyway, and follow the signs to the LRT station:
