Trabzon Airport is the first official airport of Turkey, and the country's capital. It is the largest airport in the country with a total of twelve terminals. There are three runways situated on a plot of land with a surface area of 110,170. It serves domestic and international flights to and from Turkey. As an airport, it handles almost 20 million passengers every year and is one of the busiest airports in the world. Its services include taxi, bus, airport shuttle and private shuttles.
This airport offers parking services for cars, buses and motorbikes, to customers from different countries. It also has a large parking space for taxis, but it is not quite at the same level as the terminal. For airport transfers, there are two choices, a taxi or an airport shuttle. Taxi transfers passengers directly from the airport to the main railway station. An airport transfer service takes passengers directly to the city center. To the airport terminal, there are dozens of places that shuttle you around the airport, some even taking you right to the airport terminal.
The facilities at the airport are quite well laid out, offering an Trabzon TZX Airport Shuttle service from the shuttle station to the main terminal, at some of the bus stops near the terminal, as well as a taxi transfer service from the terminal. The airport shuttle runs every half hour or so, between 7:00 a.m. and midnight. A taxi from the airport terminates at the main terminal, and the airport shuttle stops just outside the terminal. Both services offer their own selection of taxi drivers, and both are only waiting for the new passengers, with the bus schedule waiting for them to transfer. If you have a car at the airport, or the need to cross the road to the train station, either service would be more convenient for you.
